I’m Not Okay, Thanks
Operation Bounce House by Matt DinnimanMy rating: 5 of 5 stars
This one kind of blew me away.
On the surface, it's chaotic and over-the-top, but underneath that, there's a lot going on. It digs into greed, AI, corruption, and human nature, but it never feels preachy or heavy-handed. Instead, it stays grounded in the people: how they cope, how they survive, and the small bits of humor they cling to along the way.
There were so many lines that hit hard, the kind that make you pause and sit with them for a minute. It's sharp, uncomfortable at times, and weirdly insightful in ways I didn't expect, but I should have, because of DCC.
I'm still not entirely sure how I feel about the ending, or even the book as a whole, if I'm being honest, but it made me feel something, and that counts for a lot. Honestly, that's what pushed it into 5-star territory for me.
