Bite-Sized Bedlam
Emotional Damage in Under 150 Pages
Of Mice and Men by John SteinbeckMy rating: 4 of 5 stars
π holy sh*t. That was... awful.
I really liked it, which somehow makes it worse. Steinbeck does an incredible job building quiet hope and fragile humanity just long enough to rip it away. It's short, cruel, and devastating... and far more emotionally effective that it has any right to be.

P.S. I really feel as though this one deserves another read through and some BIG THOUGHTS, so I'll probably read this again.
