Meh, But I Like Hazelwood Anyway

This was… fine.

I'll admit, a lot of my enjoyment came from the fact that it's Ali Hazelwood. I like her writing style and voice. But as a novella, this one just felt kind of mid. A little too cheesy, a little too predictable, and not quite enough depth to make it stand out.

It's not the worst novella I've read by any means, and the story itself could be cute fleshed out as a novel, but as it is NOW, definitely not one I'd go out of my way to recommend.

Also, the audiobook? Not it. The male narrator was… a choice, and unfortunately not a good one.
