This one OWNED ME.
The evolution of this story, from simple survival to outright rebellion, is everything I want in a dystopian series. Carl and Donut are no longer just reacting, they're outright breaking the system. That ending... that epilogue... I yelled out loud.
The humor is still delightfully unhinged (Sharktopus, hah! Octo-Shark!), but there's an undercurrent of darkness and purpose that is reaching a crescendo.
Can't wait to start Book 5!

But that’s what happens, isn’t it? The universe shows us how cruel it can be, and we are worse for it.
